Christian education and spiritual growth for all ages

St. Clement's Episcopal Church offers Christian education experiences for all ages. The Sunday liturgy is a primary form of Christian formation, and everyone is invited to worship and be nourished by Word and Sacrament. All baptized persons, including young children, are welcome to receive the Eucharist. The bonds formed around the Lord's Table are renewed and strengthened in the hospitality time after each service.

Ongoing faith formation for adults is of great importance at St. Clement's. Each Sunday morning at 9:30, the Adult Forum provides an opportunity for adults to think about and reflect upon their faith journeys, led by speakers and members of our own community. In addition, Wednesday afternoon Chapel Meditation, Small Groups, Baptism Preparation for Parents and Godparents, Membership and Discipleship Classes, and Choir provide further opportunities for adults to deepen their Christian faith.

St. Clement's offers young persons in grades 6 to 12 opportunities to grow in several areas of Christian faith. Through education, outreach and service projects, social activities and interaction with youth around the diocese, our youth are encouraged to further their relationship with Christ and the church. They are also invited to take an active role in parish life through service within the parish as acolytes, readers, ushers, choir members, greeters and teachers of younger children.

The younger members of our community are welcomed and valued. In addition to their participation in the usual parish worship, special liturgies for children are sometimes scheduled. On Sunday mornings, Godly Play provides an environment in which children ages 3 through fifth grade can experience the wonders of God's presence. The Nursery ministry provides loving care for very young children and infants.

LENTEN ADULT FORUM

This Lent, each Adult Forum will present a different "Perspective on the Passion Narratives". We will look at the death of Jesus from a historical and theological perspective - history remembered and history interpreted. We will follow that with a session discussing our faith and the historical reliability of the passion narratives. We will explore the meaning of Jesus' suffering and what that has to say to us.  Since this is the year of Luke in the lectionary, we'll look at what Luke has to say about the Passion. We will also take a look at the passion through the eyes of cinema and the music and poetry of Lent.
The series begins on SUN FEB 21, (9:15 am, Okie Library) with The Passion Narratives in Cinema presented by Robert Gage.
